Real-world ways to wear summer’s hottest fashion trends – New York Post

The Post’s Anahita Moussavian and Johannah Masters style summer’s hottest runway trends two different ways — and share a few more fashion finds they’re excited about.

Mixed florals

On Anahita (left): Alice McCall “Oh Oh Oh Maxi” dress, $550 at American Two Shot, 135 Grand St.; “Milaa” sandals, $90 at Aldo; Bag, $55.90 at Zara. On Johannah: Rebecca Taylor “Moonlight” dress, $425 at Bloomingdale’s; “Groovy” earrings, $220 at LizzieFortunato.com; Cult Gaia clutch “Small Ark” bag, $112 at Need Supply; “Fiji Friendship” bracelets in coral and “ballet pink,” $195 each at Monica Vinader, 151 Spring St.; “Rascal” sandals, $85 at Topshop, 478 BroadwayTamara Beckwith

Anahita: An array of florals can be tricky to pull off. They key? Avoid pieces that compete with one another. I love the romantic vibe of this fluttery dress, and the subtle floral-shaped embellishments on both the bag and shoes create the perfect bouquet of stylish goodness.

Johannah: This A-line slip dress with multiple flower patterns is a perfect go-to frock for any warm weather event. I paired it with graphic statement earrings and a black basket bag for a modern look.

Day to night

On Anahita (left): Blouse, $39.99 at H&M; WAYF “Quinn” ruffle skirt, $98 at Bloomingdale’s, 1000 Third Ave.; “Lorene” slingback block heels, $120 at Sam Edelman; Kate Spade New York “Spice Things Up” camera bag, $448 at Bloomingdale’s, 1000 Third Ave.; “Lily” tassel hoop earrings, $125, similar styles at Mignonne Gavigan. On Johannah: Embroidered dress, $69.90 at Zara; Nannacay bag, $175 at Shopbop; Shashi “Lilu” earrings, $60 at Shopbop; “Anna” sandals, $355 at Alameda Turquesa.Tamara Beckwith

Anahita: Initially a skeptic, I’ve come around to this sleepy trend because it can involve so many things I love: pastels, lace and light layers. I styled this sliplike skirt with a cropped bra top and topped it with a ladylike robe coat for day-to-night dreaminess.

Johannah: What’s not to love about wearing pajama-inspired clothing during the day? This oversize asymmetrical shirtdress couldn’t be more comfortable; a black belt, prim tote and slide heels ensure the look is chic, not sloppy.

Jet-setters

On Anahita (left): Blouse, $39.99 at H&M; WAYF “Quinn” ruffle skirt, $98 at Bloomingdale’s, 1000 Third Ave.; “Lorene” slingback block heels, $120 at Sam Edelman; Kate Spade New York “Spice Things Up” camera bag, $448 at Bloomingdale’s, 1000 Third Ave.; “Lily” tassel hoop earrings, $125, similar styles at Mignonne Gavigan. On Johannah: Embroidered dress, $69.90 at Zara; Nannacay bag, $175 at Shopbop; Shashi “Lilu” earrings, $60 at Shopbop; “Anna” sandals, $355 at Alameda Turquesa.

Anahita: I probably won’t make it to the Italian Riviera this summer, but I can dress the part with an off-the-shoulder top, striped skirt and ruffles galore. A sleek block-heel anchors the look and keeps it from being too much. Plus, the outfit is supercomfy, so I’m ready to go wherever the day — or night — may take me.

Johannah: This affordable Zara dress is the perfect shade of red, and embroidered details give it an exotic edge. Pair it with colorful, pompom accessories and I’m good to go — just about anywhere.
