Lee Enterprises selling Utah newspaper – STLtoday.com
Lee Enterprises, publisher of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, is selling the Daily Herald newspaper in Provo, Utah.Â
Davenport, Iowa-based Lee said Monday it has entered an agreement to sell the Daily Herald newspaper and the website Heraldextra.com to Ogden Newspapers of Utah LLC, a publisher of dozens of newspapers and magazines in 14 states. Financial terms of the deal, set to close Aug. 29, were not disclosed.Â
The Daily Herald has a print circulation of about 20,000 daily and nearly 27,000 on Sunday, according to Lee, which acquired the newspaper in 2005 as part of its purchase of Pulitzer Inc.
Lee Enterprises owns 45 daily newspapers and holds a joint interest in four others. Lee spokesman Charles Arms said no other papers are being actively marketed for sale.Â
