The rapper also debuts his “Gucci Please” video.
His first name may be Gucci, but Gucci Mane‘s wardrobe extends far beyond that one brand. In a new interview with Vogue, Mane spoke about his love for luxury brands that — thanks to his new healthy lifestyle — have only become more defined.
The Atlanta-based rapper revealed that since cutting drugs out of his diet, he has lost 75 pounds, allowing him to enhance his personal style with more fitted clothing. The hip-hop artist also talked about his homecoming concert, how hip-hop and fashion are coming together and his plans following house arrest.
On his Gucci Mane & Friends homecoming concert:
“The Gucci Mane & Friends concert was a very triumphant time for me. Being confined in the house all of the time, it was finally good to get back on the stage and see all of the artists I have been recording with for years.”
On the integration of fashion in hip-hop:
I love fashion in hip-hop right now — I love how people are just taking risks, and I love how they’re embracing the high-end designers. There’s a more fitted, grown, mature look now.”

On his new healthy lifestyle:
“I feel like working out humbles me. I used to live a life of excess, greed and gluttony. Now I’ve learned to challenge myself—to get up every day and push myself to live a healthier lifestyle.”
On a possible tour:
“I’m looking forward to getting off house arrest so I can get back on the road and start doing shows. I want to go everywhere, be everywhere, see everybody, and just shine for the rest of the year. I have something special planned for everyone real soon.”
On Tuesday (Aug. 9), Mane also released his new music video for “Gucci Please,” in which the rapper sports one of his favorite designers, Balmain.
