Three upscale fashion retailers coming to Avalon this spring – MDJOnline.com
North American Properties has announced that fashion retailers Boogaloos, Hammer Made and Scout & Mollyâs will open as part of the expansion of Avalon, an experiential 86-acre mixed-use community in Alpharetta, in April 2017.
âAvalon is home to a premier collection of best-in-class retailers, and these new boutiques will further elevate the shopping experience,â said Carla Toro, director of marketing at Avalon. âThe affluent Alpharetta community is constantly craving new fashion choices and the addition of Hammer Made, Boogaloos and Scout & Mollyâs will ensure that market demand is met.â
Boogaloos is an Atlanta staple with locations at Ponce City Market and Town Brookhaven. The upscale womenâs boutique offers premium denim from brands such as Citizens for Humanity and 7 For All Mankind, as well as top clothing lines such as French Connection, Sanctuary, Weston Wear and Bailey 44. In addition to high-end clothing, the boutique sells jewelry, often from local designers, home goods and handbags. Armed with a CPA degree and background in finance, local owner and founder of Boogalooâs, Penny Scheetz, made the jump from accounting to fashion in 2001, and has yet to look back.
âWe are thrilled to open our next location at Avalon, the most sought-after shopping destination in north Fulton,â Scheetz said. âSome of our customers were driving from the North Atlanta suburbs to shop at the Brookhaven and Ponce stores. We look forward to serving them closer to home, as well as meeting new Boogalooâs fans.â
Scout & Mollyâs is a rapidly growing boutique concept with stores throughout the country, largely on the east coast. Owner Lisa Kornstein opened the first location in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2002 for women seeking a personalized, comfortable shopping experience with top-notch customer service and one-of-a-kind clothing, jewelry and accessories. Kornstein wants shoppers to feel like theyâre borrowing from their best friendâs closet, where a smile and fashion advice are readily available.
Also coming to Avalonâs expansion, Hammer Made is a Minnesota-based menâs clothier known for its line of expertly tailored shirts and other wares like ties, denim, belts and knitwear. Jason Hammerberg founded the concept in 2009 with the goal of creating premium quality, limited-run shirts at affordable pricing. Each Hammer Made store is equipped with complimentary expert stylists to guide men along their shopping journey.
Avalonâs expansion is slated to debut in April 2017, and will bring additional retail, office and living space to the development. Retailers and restaurants already confirmed for the expansion include Brooks Brothers, Urban Outfitters, Rumiâs Kitchen, The Boardroom Salon for Men, Lucky Brand, Leviâs, Barleygarden Kitchen and Craft Bar and Brine Fish House. The Hotel at Avalon, an Autograph Collection hotel, and the Alpharetta Conference Center, will arrive in early 2018.
The fashion retailer announcement comes as Avalon prepares for its second Noon to Night fashion show on Sept. 15, which coincides with New York Fashion Week. The extravagant event benefits local nonprofit, Bertâs Big Adventure.
Last year, the event raised over $10,000 for the organization, sending several seriously ill children and their families to Disney World.
