The Blush Label’s new clothing line a natural extension of home decor collection – News & Observer

As children, sisters and Durham natives Christie Le Sesne and Mary Le Sesne Delpit spent many a summer visiting their father’s homeland of Puerto Rico, soaking in the culture of the sunny Caribbean island.

Those trips now influence the duo’s lifestyle brand, The Blush Label (, which recently launched its first clothing and accessories line. Taking inspiration from the sights and sounds of Puerto Rico, the collection of robes, caftans, dresses, bags and more features bold, poppy colors and vivid tropical prints.

“The colors on the island are incredibly welcoming and vibrant, and that’s what we wanted The Blush Label to embody,” Delpit said.

The sisters started small, with cocktail napkins and pillows featuring patterns and colors derived from Le Sesne’s artwork; her art also shows up in their clothing. The move to fashion was a natural transition, fueled largely by buyer request.

“We’ve grown our brand based on customer feedback – that has always been very important to us,” Delpit said. “After receiving frequent requests for clothing items in our popular prints, we decided to work with a team of industry professionals to develop the clothing line.”
