Fashion, talent, and non-stop fun: NIFT’s annual fest Spectrum had it all – Hindustan Times

Intense arm-wrestling competitions, street plays, fashion shows, dance-offs, and an all-you-can-eat-hogathon— this is what went down at National Institute of Fashion Technology’s (NIFT) annual cultural fest. Keeping true to its artistic reputation, from the college entrance to the stage, NIFT was beautifully decorated with installations, artworks, lanterns and more. Yet what made this fest a cut above the rest, was its focus on fun and creativity rather than star presence.

“It isn’t my first experience of the annual fest, but every moment makes you love every little thing about the college. I always come here for the unfiltered fun and fashion inspo that I get,” said Sunakshi Rawat, a student who was visiting the fest.

Apart from the usual, what really caught attention was the showcase by student designers Devanshi Tuli, Tamanna Mehra, Sonal Bhardwaj, Mansi Dua during the fashion show. Eshan Hilal who wore a creation by the designers was loved for his look and the thunderous applause in the amphitheatre was enough to prove that. “It is amazing how beautiful the work by these designers is, and the boy’s (Eshan’s) confidence is something some of us can learn from. I am still in awe,” said Ridhaan Mehta, a student at the fest.

The teams from TANZ and Electra, the Western dance society of Miranda House and Motilal Nehru Collegekept the audience entertained with their electric dance performances and also got a few students from the crowd dancing in the stands during Bangarang (the fest’s dance competition). Ending the party with their bassed up music were DJs NDS and Flynn who belted out some hit tracks and mixes as the crowd danced endlessly.
