2 local restaurants are coming to The Fashion Mall – IndyStar – Indianapolis Star
Here are some new restaurants in Hamilton County or coming to the area in 2017, according to IndyStar food writer Liz Biro.
Alterations to the patio area on the food courtâs east side, near Elevation Burger, are scheduled to be completed by the holiday season, said Emily Nickels, a spokeswoman for Simon Property Group, which owns the mall at 8702 Keystone Crossing.
Mimi Blue partners are considering walk-up service inside the food court as part of the 100-seat restaurant, Mimi Blue co-founder Gerry Kosene of Kosene & Kosene Development Co. said. Also expect a dedicated Mimi Blue entrance outside the mall and a 40-seat patio featuring greenery âto make it feel more like a genuine patio with landscaping, take it up a notch,â Kosene said.
The restaurant, No. 3 for the brand that serves various meatballs and comfort-food sides at locations on Mass Ave. and in Carmel, may not open until early 2018, he said.
No word yet on plans for Public Greens, one of six brands under Indianapolis-based Patachou Inc. restaurant group. The company also owns the mallâs Napolese pizzeria, Indyâs popular CafÃ© Patachou and recently opened Bar One Fourteen cocktail lounge.
Public Greens is a farm-to-fork cafeteria-style restaurant that donates all its profits to helping feed Indianapolis kids who arenât sure how or when they might get their next meals. The first location debuted in December 2014 in Broad Ripple. A year later, Patachou Inc. founder Martha Hoover announced the brand would grow. Hoover revealedÂ that she had signed letters of intent for two new Public Greens locations within Indianapolis and two outside the city, but sheÂ has yet to say where the others would land.
Bringing Mimi Blue and Public Greens to the mall adds up to four local dining brands in The Fashion Mall food court. Shapiroâs Deli opened in January 2015 and Napolese pizzeria in 2013. Tillyâs Tea Room in 2016 moved from Fishers to the thirdÂ floor of the mallâs Saks Fifth Avenue.
âThe Fashion Mall at Keystone is the only shopping destination in the region that can offer our shoppers both local favorites and nationally recognized brands,â The Fashion Mall director of marketing and business development Leslie Featherson said. âThese new additions will give out of town shoppers a taste of Indianapolis favorites.â
This month, Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group announced that in 2017 and 2018 it would spend about $1 billion on development projects at its malls, on the heels of $5 billlion the company has spent over the past five years.
