Fashion & fun: Blahnik stars at YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund benefit – Palm Beach Daily News

A spring fashion presentation by
Manolo Blahnik
highlighted the Palm Beach luncheon to benefit the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund.

Iris Apfel was honorary chairwoman of the event, which took place March 9 at Neiman Marcus.

The afternoon began with a reception, followed by a seated luncheon and the fashion show, featuring a personal appearance by George Malkemus, president of Manolo Blahnik USA.

A champagne and dessert bar — and a bit of shoe shopping — closed the afternoon.

Committee members included Carol Jaeger, Erin McGould, Cheryl Gowdy, Mikolaj Bauer, Donna Feldman, Kenneth Wyse, Doug Evans and Christopher and Vicki Kellogg.

Proceeds assist the Fashion Scholarship Fund in its mission to advance the fashion industry by encouraging gifted and enterprising young people to pursue careers in design, merchandising, retailing and business.

The educational fashion nonprofit in the United States seeks to identify and create career opportunities for young people worldwide.
